Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Davit Vardiashvili hosted the children at the 112 Centre and praised them for what they had done.

One of the young heroes was 13-year-old Giorgi Kostava who called 112 and asked for a medical help for his friend.

Another was 12-year-old Lizi Kumsiashvili. She phoned 112 and asked for an ambulance for her friend who suddenly felt unwell, so that her friend’s pregnant mother didn’t have to hear her child’s illness and worry.

The third young hero was 11-year-old Dea Geladze who was the only family member at home when her grandmother fell ill so she called 112.

The final hero was 15-year-old Nino Adamashvili who called 112 and said a tree near her house looked like it was falling down. The emergency team arrived, assessed the scene and secured the tree and stopped it from causing harm to a person or property.

After the awards ceremony the four children met the 112 dispatchers who had personally helped them in their moments of emergency.

Authorities said the 112 Centre would identify and award children who productively used the emergency hotline each year on this day.
