Georgia’s Foreign Minister visits Austria: Business, politics and security in focus

Georgia’s Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze has travelled to Austria for a three-day state visit today.

The Georgian Minister will meet the top official of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Secretary General Lamberto Zannier in capital Vienna.

Janelidze was scheduled to hold Georgia-Austria bilateral meetings too, including one with Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz.

Furthermore the Georgian Minister will take part in an OSCE Permanent Council meeting, where he will deliver a speech and visit the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna to meet the institution’s director Dr. Hans Winkler and president of the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES) Werner Fasslabend.

While abroad Janelidze will speak about European integration of Georgia: Achievements and Challenges of the EU Associated Partner.

A part of his visit will focus economic relations between Georgia and Austria. Janelidze will attend the opening ceremony of the Georgia-Austria business forum and meet high officials from the Development Bank of Austria.

While in Vienna, Georgia’s top diplomat will attend and speak at a celebratory reception devoted to the 25th anniversary of Georgia’s restoration of independence from the Soviet Union.

Janelidze will end his Austria visit on June 3.
