One of the main libraries in Georgia’s capital will soon be rehabilitated and equipped with the most modern technologies so people with disabilities can easily access and use the internet.

Today Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency and Korea's National Information Society Agency signed a Memorandum of Cooperation about the project.

According to the deal, South Korea will finance the Internet Access Centre (IAC) project at the Mirza Gelovani Youth Library in Tbilisi.

Initially only this library in Tbilisi will be fitted out with the latest technologies, but this could expand to other libraries if successful.

Those behind the project explained the Mirza Gelovani Youth Library was selected among other libraries because of its large size and good location on Vazha-Pshavela Ave, in Saburtalo district.

The South Korean side did not reveal how much money they would spend to modernise the library.
