The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has completed a $52 million USD project that will improve the lives of thousands of internally displaced people (IDPs) living in Georgia.
USAID’s Municipal Infrastructure and IDP Housing Rehabilitation project was implemented in Georgia for the past five years. Thanks to the project 40,000 IDPs in Georgia now enjoy better living conditions.
A special ceremony marking the conclusion of the project was held today in Georgia’s western town Khoni, and attended by honourable guests including USAID Caucasus Mission Director Douglas Ball and the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia Sozar Subari.
