Global hotel chain Radisson Blu expands in Tbilisi and Svaneti

One of the largest and most dynamic hotel groups worldwide, Carlson Rezidor, has revealed it plans to further expand its hotel presence in Georgia, with the opening of two new hotels in capital Tbilisi and in Svaneti in the west.
The hotel brand this week announced the opening of the Park Inn by Radisson Tori Tbilisi and the Radisson Blu Mestia Hotel in Svaneti.
Carlson Rezidor signed a partnership agreement with Georgian construction firm Block Geo Group to develop the Park Inn by Radisson Tori Tbilisi. According to the deal, the Tori Hotel, which has been operating in Tbilisi for many years, will be transformed into a Radisson Hotel.
Georgia’s Economy Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said $25 million USD will be spent on implementing this project and 200 jobs will be created as a result.

Carlson Rezidor now operates and develops six properties all across the country.
"Georgia is a key growth market for us and we are delighted to further strengthen our network across the country together with our partners,” said Rezidor president and CEO Wolfgang Neumann.
The Park Inn by Radisson Tori Tbilisi will feature 200 guest rooms, an all-day dining restaurant for 120 people and a lobby lounge bar area measuring 120m². Furthermore, the hotel will offer a 215m² meeting space and parking spaces for 40 cars.
The hotel will be located in central Tbilisi, just off the capital’s main commercial street and only 200m from the former Georgian House of Parliament.
As for Radisson Blu Mestia Hotel in Svaneti, a memorandum has been signed and construction on the new facility will begin soon.
The investment portfolio for this project wa $10 million USD. Block Geo Group director Tornike Janashvili said they had found an appropriate building for the hotel in Mestia , which will feature 72 rooms for guests.
Other upcoming projects of Carlson Rezidor also included opening of another Radisson Hotel in Tbilisi in front of Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel in the city’s Avlabari district. This hotel will boast 80 rooms.
Meanwhile, Radisson Blu Resort Tsinandali Hotel will open in the near future too.
