Local businesses have put their creative hats on and designed quirky and unique New Year trees to transform Tbilisi into a fresh, modern city this festive season.
More than unique creations have popped up all over Tbilisi as part of a special New Year tree display in Georgia's capital, organised by Tbilisi City Hall and Meidan Events.
The Festival of Fir Trees is part of the city’s 10 days of New Year celebrations, which will conclude on January 3, ahead of Orthodox Christmas and New Year, celebrated January 7 and 14 respectfully.

The tree display launched yesterday in three locations - Chardin St, Bambis Rigi St and Georgian Cinema Square.
The decorative trees were creatively constructed; some used Georgian alphabet letters while others used books as parts of the tree design. Special lighting and decorative pieces also helped draw viewers' attention.

In conjunction with the tree display, Chardin and Bambis Rigi streets exhibited art and craft items, offered tasting of sweets and a concert by the band Strawberry Fiels.
The creative trees will remain on display in Tbilisi until January 3.
