Georgian calligraphy has been honoured at a special exhibition in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
The Suhaimi Creativity Centre in Cairo hosted "The Art of Georgian and Arabic Calligraphy: Different Lines… One Sense" exhibition this week.
The exhibition, which opened on November 25 and will run until November 30, showcased ancient manuscripts and calligraphy artworks from Georgia and the Arab world.
The event was attended by Egyptian government officials, including Deputy Culture Minister as well as representatives of Cairo art circles and Georgian diaspora in Egypt.
The exhibition featured the work by 17 Georgian and 15 Arab calligraphers.
The Georgian Embassy in Egypt said the Georgian writing and the history of Georgian calligraphy deserved special interest from Egyptian guests.
