People in Georgia have the opportunity to offer their sympathies to the French nation by signing a book of condolence as a tribute to those killed and affected by the bloody terrorist attacks in Paris.

The book is placed at the Tbilisi Sakrebulo (City Council), where anyone can go and offer their words of support to the French nation until 7pm this evening.

Representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Tbilisi made the first entry in the book of condolences, followed by other international diplomats and local officials.

The French Ambassador to Tbilisi Renaud Salins met the guests and said he had received lots of sympathies from Georgians in recent day, which showed France had "good friends” in this country.

Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili also offered words of support by signing the commemorative book earlier this afternoon.

"The Islamic State is a big lie as it has nothing to do neither with a state nor with Islam,” the President said.

"This terrorist formation will be ended the way terrorists end.”

Margvelashvili expressed his solidarity to the people and government of France in these "hard moments”. He added Georgian and French soldiers serving arm-in-arm to ensure peace in Africa was a clear signal of the "special relations” between the two "allies”.
