Huge crowds in Ukraine’s capital Kiev celebrate Tbilisoba

More than 35,000 visitors took part in the Tbilisoba celebration in Ukraine’s capital Kiev today.

Cultural events in the centre of Kiev marked the annual celebration of Georgia’s capital city Tbilisi.

The Andreevsky Descent hosted the Ukraine event, which was opened by Kiev City Municipality Culture Department head Diana Popova and Georgia’s Ambassador to Ukraine Mikheil Ukleba.

The occasion involved various contests, a photo exhibition of Old Tbilisi, an interactive installation and an evening of literature.

Artists who featured in the celebration included the Theatre Quartet band, Ukraine’s Meritorious Musical Ensemble Gorlitsa-Art, Ukrainian band Vroda and performers Sergiy Gladyr and Aniko Dolidze.

The Tbilisoba celebration was also participated by about 20 Georgian restaurants and wine producers and mineral water companies.

The annual Tbilisoba festival in Georgia will take place in capital Tbilisi through October 17-18.
