Three citizen-submitted projects have been shortlisted to feature in the Tbilisoba celebration by Tbilisi City Hall commission, with online voting now set to reveal the winner of the 14,000 GEL first prize and the opportunity to have their idea featured in the annual city festival.

The municipal authority said projects by Nino Lelashvili, Paata Tsikolia and Studio 1 2 3 had been chosen from the 21 entries submitted during a two-week application period. Each proposal was tasked with outlining their vision for the festival, noting how it should be organised, what stalls and activities could be included and more.

The three shortlisted ideas (in Georgian language) have been uploaded to the City Hall website, where online voting started today, Thursday September 3.

From now until September 8, the public can vote for their favourite idea by clicking the ‘Like’ button for their chosen project. The project with the most ‘Likes’ will be awarded first prize and receive 14,000 GEL, while the runner-up and third-place candidate will receive 9,000 GEL and 7,000 GEL respectively.

The concept to reveal a "people’s choice” vote will be taken into account during the commission’s later selection process that will determine the overall winning project. The official selection commission is led by Tbilisi Deputy Mayor Dimitri Kumsishvili.

Tbilisi City Hall announced the My Tbilisoba contest last month, offering citizens an opportunity to have their ideas realised in the festival that takes place in Georgia’s capital city Tbilisi annually in October.
