Georgian Dream begins election preparation

The upcoming self-government elections were discussed at a late night gathering of Georgian Dream coalition political council members last night. 

The meeting, led by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, conferred preparation works ahead of the Elections. After the meeting, Georgian Dream coalition representative David Berdzenishvili said the coalition would be "solidly” represented at the elections. 

He said all six parties in the coalition had an opportunity to protect their interests, and the interests of the coalition would be protected at the same time.

"We will start to discuss the mayoral and governor candidates in this [preparation] process. Of course we expect a landslide victory everywhere since we have every reason to do so," Berdzenishvili said. 

Georgian local self-government elections are planned to take place at the end of this spring.
