"Israel’s Investments in Eastern Europe Starts from Tbilisi.” This is the new message of a promotional campaign by the Georgia-Israel Chamber of Commerce aimed to attract investments in Georgia.
Today, Tbilisi welcomed Israeli businessmen and media representatives from Yediot Ahronoth, Deot, Ynet to get acquaintance with the Georgian interment climate.
The Chairman of the Georgia-Israel Chamber of Commerce Itsik Moshe said Tbilisi was set to host the Israel-Georgia Business Forum in March this year.
"These kinds of activities will promote Georgia’s business climate and the Georgia-Israel cooperation will become even more lucrative. The meetings with Georgian business insiders will help us to increase trade between two countries,” he said.
Furthermore, Moshe said Israel was set to invest thousands of million in private investments in Georgia this year.
"If we work strategically, the Israeli investments will reach the volume that was in 2007,” Moshe said.
In the framework of today’s visit, the Israel guests will visit Government officials and representatives of the Co-Investment Fund, which is a USD $6 billion private investment fund.
Last month, a dual-Government initiative to boost business relations between Georgia and Israel was signed by the two countries’ leaders during the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili’s visit to Israel.
