MIA judo team becomes European Champion

Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) Judo Sports Club won championship of a European tournament held in Netherlands on December 18-20.
The MIA Judo Sports Club ‘Fighters Tbilisi” members confidently performed in every battle and managed to gain first place for the team. This was the first appearance of these wrestlers on European arena.
With this victory Georgian wrestlers were moved to the Golden League of European Championship and will compete for the title of the Continent’s strongest club next year. The team will return to Georgia today at 11pm.
The MIA Judo Sports Club was founded in May 2014 with the initiative of the Ministry. Majority of the club members are wrestlers of Georgian Judo Team and winners of World Championships and international tournaments.
Georgian judoka’s are enjoying their success after winning six medals at an international competition in Italy.
For the third time in a row Georgian judoka has won the top award at a prestigious international judo competition in Germany.
The team of the Georgian Interior Ministry claimed two gold medals at this year’s World Police and Fire Games in Rotterdam, the Ministry said on Monday.
