Voters from 14 precincts in nine districts across Georgia are returning to polling stations to recast their vote.
The re-vote was held in several places after result of the June 15 municipal election were annulled because of ballot-stuffing.
Central Election Commission (CEC) spokesperson Eka Arazashvili told journalists the 14 precincts opened at 8am this morning and early voters had already cast their vote.
"The election process is being conducted in a calm atmosphere,” she said.
Despite this, she said one minor incident happened at N34 election precinct in Kobuleti district where an authorised person from United National Movement (UNM) political party was present at the polling station.
"Precinct Election Commission representatives asked him several time to leave the election precinct by the person refused. The CEC urges [everyone] involved in the election to ensure [it is held in] a peaceful environment and to abide by the rules prescribed by the legislation,” Arazashvili said.
