Georgian Parliament plans to ratify the Association Agreement (AA) between Georgia and the European Union in July.

Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili today said committee discussion and ratification of the AA was an important task and would happen in July within special Parliamentary sessions.

Georgia will sign the AA on June 27 but due to the second round of municipal elections, expected to be held at the end of July, Parliament will temporarily stop working.

Plenary sessions will not be held in July and Parliament will only hold special sessions.

The decision was made today at a bureau session.

Before the June 15 elections, Parliament also closed temporarily. Current regulations state Parliament must stop working one month before elections are held.
