NATO Secretary Generals Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai sees no connection between Georgian and Ukrainian developments.
"Im hopeful that now there is no connection between Georgian and Ukrainian developments. It would be very negative, but I dont see this danger, Appathurai stated.
He also stresses that the NATO principle is clear: the country has to choose its orientation.
"We have made this clear to the Russian federation regarding Georgia. Yerevans relationship with Moscow was its decision. They chose to enter the customs union and it is upon them how this will continue, but for the country, that doesnt want foreign countrys troops near its borders, or in its territory, like Georgia, we declare that Russia has to leave Georgian territory, we continue to support Georgias territorial integrity, Appathurai said.
He also highlighted that Ukraine has also the right to define its orientation on its own.
