The bilateral relations between Georgia and Italy, including "fruitful cooperation" in trade and economy, as well as defence, education and culture, were in focus of the meeting on Thursday between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Italian Ambassador to the country Massimiliano D’Antuono.
At the meeting, the officials expressed readiness to further strengthen the existing partnership between the two countries, the Government Administration said.
Kobakhidze briefed D’Antuono about the progress achieved by Georgia on the path to European integration, and emphasised the importance of Italy’s support, as one of the founding members of the European Union, in the process of the country’s further integration into the bloc.
The Georgian PM thanked the Italian diplomat for his firm support for Georgia’s European future, as well as for the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
