Irakli Kobakhidze, the newly confirmed Prime Minister of Georgia, on Thursday expressed gratitude to the Parliament for its confidence following last month’s general elections, pledging to deliver on an “ambitious programme” that he described as both “achievable” and “rooted in accountability”.
Thank you for the trust expressed”, Kobakhidze said following the confirmation vote.
We have a very ambitious plan, an ambitious programme, which I presented once again to the Parliament and the public of Georgia today. We will report back to the public after four years, and it is our responsibility to faithfully fulfill each point of this program”, Kobakhidze said.
The official further pointed to feasibility of the Government's goals, saying the programme reflected “very ambitious goals”.
He said the objectives were “absolutely feasible”, adding his team was “responsible for presenting ourselves honestly to the public in four years”.
