Georgia’s Special Investigation Service on Wednesday said it had identified two individuals involved in “persecution and violence” against a reporter and camera crew from Media Monitoring TV company in capital Tbilisi in July.
The Service said its investigation had established the company had aired a report highlighting “problems with passenger minibuses” operating on a route between the central city of Gori and Tbilisi.
The body noted the two individuals had then assaulted the reporter and camera professional at a Tbilisi bus station following the broadcast, with the latter taken to a medical facility for treatment.
The crime is punishable by imprisonment up to three years.
