Mikheil Sarjveladze, the ruling Georgia Dream party’s candidate for the Minister of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs, on Wednesday said universal healthcare programme and its “effective implementation” would remain “one of the main priorities” for the further development of the country’s healthcare system.
Speaking at a joint committee meeting at the Parliament of Georgia, Sarjveladze claimed the healthcare programmes would be “constantly growing” with innovations introduced annually focusing on “qualitative and substantive advancement and development of programmes”.
We will focus on improving the health conditions of citizens and universally accessible, fair, high-quality healthcare. Also to maintain the current system and its further development. Including all areas, from sport to oncology medicine”, the candidate stressed.
At the committee meeting, Sarjveladze additionally highlighted healthcare costs had been increased four-fold, and added it showed a “colossal support that the state provides to help each patient”.
