Georgian, Serbian officials discuss gender equality projects

The important projects aimed at gender equality in Georgia and Serbia were discussed between Mikheil Sarjveladze, the Georgian Minister of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs, and Tatjana Macura, the Serbian Minister of Gender Equality, Prevention of Violence against Women and Economic and Political Empowerment of Women, the Ministry said on Saturday.

At the meeting, held on the sidelines of the ongoing International Women and Justice Summit in Istanbul, the sides reviewed the ongoing reforms and initiatives for the empowerment and support of women, along with sharing mutual experience in this regard.

Sarjveladze pointed out the meeting would “foster further strengthening and deepening cooperation between the parties”.

The Georgian Minister delivered a speech at the sixth International Women and Justice Summit, where he highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence and the necessity of ensuring gender equality in the development of the field.
