Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee, on Thursday said the European Commission’s enlargement report, released on Wednesday, had reflected the country’s “progress in 25 out of 35 chapters" over the past year.

In his social media post, Samkharadze stressed Georgia “remains ahead” of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, and Moldova in areas of fundamental rights.

Contrary to many accusations and speculations, Georgia is progressing on the European path”, he said.

Georgia requested the EU membership candidate status in March 2022 and was granted it last year.
