Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Thursday announced ₾3 billion ($1.1 bln) would be invested in the country’s agriculture between 2025 and 2028.
In his social media post, Papuashvili pointed out objectives for 2028, forecasting agribusiness output to reach ₾24 billion ($8.8 bln) and agricultural exports to rise to ₾2.3 billion ($845 mln).
The official also highlighted the output of agribusiness had risen from ₾7.6 billion ($2.7 bln) to ₾16.6 billion ($6.1 bln), while agricultural exports had increased from ₾511 million ($187 mln) to ₾1.44 billion ($529 mln) over the past 12 years.
