Georgia’s Deputy Interior Minister Aleksandre Darakhvelidze on Wednesday met Jamie Shufflebarger, the newly appointed Director of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs at the United States Embassy in the country, to discuss activities planned within ongoing projects implemented in the country by the Bureau.
Darakhvelidze extended his congratulations to Shufflebarger on her appointment to the position, while also expressed his gratitude to the Director of the Bureau for their contribution to capacity-building of the Ministry over the years, and expressed hope that the existing “successful cooperation” between the parties would be “further deepened through joint efforts”.
The body added the Ministry, the US Embassy and the INL had been cooperating “for many years” in traffic safety, cybercrime, domestic violence, trafficking, tactical training, juvenile crime prevention and “other important areas”.
