Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Tuesday claimed the plan of the ruling Georgian Dream party was to “advance the country on the path of European integration”, adding Georgia would be “leading” the states aspiring to join the European Union in terms of its readiness by 2030.
The chief Georgian legislator called the decision not to grant the country the EU candidate status in 2022 an “unfair decision”, adding “we found out that we were better than Ukraine, we were better than Moldova, and we were better than many other [states]” in conditions for being granted the status.
Papuashvili also stressed Georgia was expecting “fair decisions” from European partners, further adding the country could not “adapt to injustice in the future”.
