Employees of the Emergency Situations Management Service of Georgia’s Interior Ministry completed training on simulated rescue of passengers from a cable car in the country’s Black Sea city of Batumi, the Service said on Sunday.
The training included simulated evacuation operations by firefighters and rescuers of the Service for passengers in a cable car, by using a rescue trampoline, drone and “special techniques”, in case of a technical delay.
The Emergency Service said that the training aimed to improve the rescue efforts for passengers during a technological accident in cable cars.
The training involved the service members of the State Reserve and Civil Security Agency of the Emergency Service and Fire and Rescue Department, along with the professionals of the Patrol and Criminal Police departments, Emergency Situations Coordination and Urgent Assistance Centre, as well as employees of Batumi Cable Car Administration, the body added.
