Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan have held joint command and staff exercises Eternity 2024, aimed at providing security for the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline during a crisis situation and increasing interoperability between the military units of the countries, the Georgian Defence Ministry said on Saturday.

As part of the event, the demonstration exercises were held at the Vaziani military base near the capital Tbilisi, where the servicemembers performed engineering demining, attacking the enemy, medical evacuation, and other tasks, the Ministry noted, adding the Strategic Pipelines Protection Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry had also participated in the field drills.

The exercise Eternity 2024, which lasted from Monday to Friday, has been held since 2000 on a rotational basis.
