Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said the country’s success in wrestling and judo was owing to Georgia’s “historical traditions”.
Kobakhidze made the comment while attending the finals of the Georgian wrestling tournament in the village of Dzlevijvari, the country’s eastern Shida Kartli region.
“Wrestling is our pride. I am glad that the tradition continues and the tournament is very important in this regard. I would like to congratulate all the champions, winners, prize-winners, and I thank all the organisers who contribute to the continuation of this very significant tradition”, the PM emphasised.
The head of the Government attended the tournament along with other officials from executive, legislative and local authorities.
