The press office of the ruling Georgian Dream party on Tuesday released video footage allegedly showing members of the youth organisation of the opposition Ahali party tearing down and destroying election posters of GD, calling it “direct evidence of interference in the electoral process”.

The party also called on election monitoring organisations to “respond” to the actions.

We will closely observe how non-governmental organisations and monitoring missions react to the video footage, which proves that members of the Ahali party organise and carry out the destruction of Georgian Dream's campaign materials”, the statement said.

The ruling party further urged monitoring organisations to “respond strictly” to the incident.
