Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Thursday met Senator Datuk Nur Jazlan bin Tan Sri Mohamed, the Vice President of the Dewan Negara of the Parliament of Malaysia, to discuss ties between the two countries and priority directions for cooperation.
The parties also highlighted prospects of deepening cooperation in economy, trade, tourism, and people-to-people relations, while also emphasising the importance of continuing political dialogue between the two countries and possibilities of further visa liberalisation for Georgian citizens.
Darchiashvili briefed the Malaysian official on Georgia’s economic potential, investment environment, as well as opportunities in transport and logistics.
The FM extended his gratitude to the visiting official for his support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognised borders.
On his part, the visiting official confirmed his country’s interest in the development of a “result-oriented” cooperation with Georgia “in a number of areas”.
