Georgian Parliament Speaker, Malaysian official discuss cooperation

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Wednesday met Senator Datuk Nur Jazlan bin Tan Sri Mohamed, the Vice President of the Dewan Negara of the Parliament of Malaysia, to discuss cooperation between the two countries in bilateral and multilateral formats.

The meeting also discussed parliamentary cooperation as well as relations in trade, economy, tourism and education between the two countries.

The parties “positively assessed” Georgia’s observer status at the Association of South East Asian Nations Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, granted to the country in 2023, while also expressing their commitment to cooperate within the format.

The officials also shared information on administrative systems of the two countries, parliamentary activities and electoral processes.
