A state support scheme that enables individuals or entities to secure a fixed tariff for development of power plant projects in Georgia through direct negotiations with the state without having to go through an auction has seen updated terms take effect on Monday, the Ministry of Economy said.

The fixed median rates for various types of power plants have been set as follows:

  • Hydroelectric power stations (on-flow): $0.065 per kWh
  • Wind power plants: $0.006
  • Solar power plants: $0.056

The initiative is expected to spur investment in the energy sector and generate heightened interest in renewable energy projects, the Ministry said.

Interested parties are required to submit their applications to the Ministry by December 31.
