A solar power plant will be built in the eastern Georgian municipality of Kaspi to help enhance independence and security of the energy sector in the country, the Public-Private Partnership Agency has said.
Georgian private company Energy Group will implement the $6 million project, which was authorised by the Government this week.
The Agency said the plant's installed capacity would be 10 MW, with the facility expected to generate approximately 14.077 million kWh of electricity annually.
[A] robust and proper utilisation of the existing energy resources in Georgia, which has considerable potential, is critically important for the country's sustainable economic development and for the well-being of the population”, the body's statement read.
It also noted Georgian citizens would be primarily employed during both the construction and operation stages of the project.
