Commercial banks in Georgia loaned ₾57.14 billion ($21.2 bln) and received deposits of ₾55.66 billion ($20.6 bln) in July, the latest data from the National Bank of Georgia shows.
The volume of loans decreased by 0.35 percent compared to the previous month, while the number of deposits increased by 2.98 percent month-on-month.
In July, the volume of term deposits increased by 2.21 percent, while on-demand deposits also saw a 3.58 percent increase, the NBG also said.
Loans taken out in the national currency amounted to ₾420.90 million ($156 mln), while loans in foreign currencies constituted ₾623.23 million ($231 mln).
