Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday highlighted the “all-time best” performance of the Georgian team at the last Olympic Games in Paris.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted the team had finished 24th among 204 nations with their result, calling the outcome the “best result historically”.
We hoped that a historic best result would be recorded at this Olympics, and it happened - three gold, three silver medals, [and] one bronze medal. This is the best result in the history of Georgia since the restoration of our independence, and I want to congratulate everyone on this great success”, he told a Government meeting.
The PM congratulated the athletes, their coaches, medical staff and the rest of the team that represented the country at the Games.
