Georgian State Security Service arrests US citizen wanted for “grave crime” by Idaho State

The State Security Service of Georgia on Tuesday said it had arrested a citizen of the United States, wanted by the Idaho State for a “grave crime” committed against a minor, in a special operation conducted in western Georgia's Black Sea city of Batumi.

The Service noted the arrest had been made in cooperation with the country’s Prosecutor's Office and partnership with relevant agencies of the US.

It added it had seized items belonging to the arrested individual, including electronic information devices, portable computers and various types of special purpose electronic equipment, as part of its efforts based on requests from US agencies.

It also added legal actions would be carried out to extradite the offender to the US and hand over the seized material evidence.
