The Georgian Interior Ministry on Tuesday rejected media reports that claimed crews of the Emergency Management Service had encountered technical difficulties with their equipment while attempting to extinguish a fire in the country’s western city of Zugdidi.
The reports concerned a fire that took the life of two minors at a flat in the city, where the reports said the firefighters could not unfold their ladders following arrival.
The body said there had been “no hindrance” in the crew’s work at the site, adding their equipment was subject to “daily” inspections.
The cause for the fire was not immediately announced.
