Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday claimed President Salome Zourabichvili was “the President of the opposition United National Movement party and not of the country”, alleging that her actions were “in tune with the opposition narrative”.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze also noted Zourabichvili was “not relevant”, calling her “one of the puppets” of the opposition party.
The Constitutional Court found that she had violated the constitution of Georgia [through unauthorised foreign visits in 2023], and then Salome Zourabichvili recognised the legitimacy of the Constitutional Court”, he said.
“Therefore, Salome Zourabishvili herself has admitted that she is a President who violates the constitution, and kept her position only because the United National Movement did not support her impeachment”, Kobakhidze added.
The PM further alleged “none of [Zourabichvili’s] words and statements” had “any value”.
