Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Georgian Deputy Economy Minister, on Sunday said that the awareness about the country was “significantly” raised at international forums.

She emphasised the progress was owing to various marketing campaigns carried on by the Economy Ministry at international levels.

When we talk about promoting Georgia, it does not only involve advertisements that tourists might see on major TV networks or social media. It is a complex process,” the Deputy Minister noted in an interview with local media outlet Imedi TV.

She highlighted the importance of tourism exhibitions for the private sector, as they provided a platform for establishing relationships with “leading companies from specific countries” and the possibility to be engaged in business activities.

Kvrivishvili also stressed the role of the recent National Geographic Traveller Food Festival, held in London, which featured around 50 organisations and companies, along with 60 chefs, speakers, and authors from around the world. The Fest promoted Georgia’s gastronomic potential, she noted, adding “no other country generated as much interest as did Georgia.”
