Georgian Defence Minister, US Officials review regional security

The regional security and existing challenges were discussed on Saturday between the Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani and the United States Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Congressman Mike Turner.
The sides also reviewed the current issues of cooperation in defence between the two countries, the Defence Ministry said, adding the “significant contribution” of the Georgian Defence Forces in ensuring global security was also highlighted at the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by Robin Dunnigan, the US Ambassador to the country and the Embassy representatives.
As part of their official visit to Georgia, the US Senators also met with the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, other officials and the country’s non-governmental organisations.
