Georgian National Security Council Head, Turkish Ambassador discuss security cooperation

Levan Girsiashvili, the Head of the National Security Council of Georgia, and Ali Kaan Orbay, the Turkish Ambassador to the country, on Friday discussed bilateral security cooperation during their introductory meeting, the national body said.

Orbay congratulated Girsiashvili on his recent appointment, before the sides discussed exploring opportunities for further strengthening ties.

The meeting underscored the importance of the “strategic partnership” and “friendly relations” between the two countries, the Council said.

The meeting also featured Sultan Alayli, the Second Secretary of the Turkish Embassy.
