Special Investigation Service arrests law enforcement officer for violence and threat

Georgia’s Special Investigation Service on Tuesday arrested a law enforcement officer of the Security Police Department of the country's Interior Ministry for the act of physical violence and threat. 

As the investigation established, the accused officer had inflicted injury on a victim and threatened to kill her children in the village of Bulachauri, in eastern Dusheti municipality, the Investigation Service said this week.

The Service conducted immediate investigative actions just after the application to the body by the victim and arrested the officer on charges of physical violence and threat.

The crime is punishable by up to three years of imprisonment.
