Special Investigation Service arrests two for physical assault, verbal abuse against TV crew

The Special Investigation Service on Friday has arrested two individuals for physical assault and verbal abuse of a reporter and cameraman of Mtavari Arkhi channel, the body said.

The Service said the offenders had attacked reporter Vladimer Menabde and cameraman Manuchar Mzhavanadze in the seaside town of Supsa in western Georgia’s Lanchkhuti municipality on Thursday.

They also damaged the equipment of the channel in the assault, the body said.

The crime is punishable by up to three years of imprisonment.
