Inaugural hiking festival kicks off in western Georgia’s Adjara region

Western Georgia’s mountainous Adjara region launched its first hiking festival this week, the Tourism Department of the region said.

About 100 hikers explored Chirukhi mountain, with the rest of their route involving hiking Sarichairi mountain, Khikhadziri valley, Khikhani fort remains, Shuamta lakes and Goderdzi resort.

The 45-km, five-day route will conclude on Sunday at the Alpine Botanical Garden.
