Release of Georgian citizens illegally detained by Russian occupation forces and developments along the occupation line were in focus of the 120th meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism in the eastern Georgian village of Ergneti, the State Security Service said on Tuesday.

The Service noted the meeting in the Gori Municipality village “strictly condemned illegal activities” of ‘borderisation’, identified between meetings of the platform that brings together Georgian Government officials with de facto authorities in the Russian-occupied central Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region.

The body said the meeting also reviewed “every important incident” taking place in the country’s occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali and along the occupation line.

Humanitarian challenges of populations living along the occupation line and ways of solving them were also in focus of the gathering, the body added.
