Relations between Austria and Georgia and prospects of their parliamentary cooperation were discussed on Friday in a meeting between Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, and a delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Austrian Parliament.
Samkharadze informed his Austrian counterparts about developments in the South Caucasus region and underlined the “key role” of Georgia in ensuring regional security.
He also provided the Austrian delegation with details of a “grave situation” in the Russian-occupied regions of Georgia and threats originating from Russia.
The meeting also focused on political developments in the country and the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for October 26.
