Georgian national women's football team to enter first UEFA Women's Euro 2025 qualifying playoffs

The Georgian national women's team will enter the qualifying playoffs of the UEFA Women's European Football Championship for the first time after they defeated Lithuania on Tuesday in the final match of the group stage.

The squad coached by Iris Antman defeated the opponents 1-0 through an 88th minute penalty by midfielder Maiko Bebia.

The result placed them second with 10 points and among the three best runners-up in the C League. 

The two-round playoff matches will be held in the fall, with 28 teams of leagues A, B and C competing for seven spots at the European Championship. 

The Championship will be played between July 2-27, 2025 in Switzerland.
