Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and the Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Monday claimed citizens of the country were facing a “simple choice” between “peace and economic development” on the one hand and “traitors” and “enemies of the country” on the other in the upcoming parliamentary elections in October.
Kaladze claimed the public would “make a simple and correct choice” based on the alleged circumstance.
“As for our elections, it will be very difficult, there are those who are ready for everything, so maximum mobilisation and attention is needed to hold the elections at a high level”, he said.
We have traitors, agents in the country, controlled by foreign powers. Whatever they are instructed to do, even if it is against the country, they have no problem [with it] at all - they are ready to do everything - and these people are in favour of opening the second front in the country [amid the war in Ukraine]”, the party official continued.
Kaladze also said the assassination attempt on the United States presidential hopeful Donald Trump on Saturday was a “complete disaster”.
