Georgian Defence Minister, Armenian PM discuss “friendly, good neighbourly” relations

The “friendly and good neighbourly” relations between Georgia and Armenia were discussed on Saturday by Irakli Chikovani, the Vice Prime Minister and Defence Minister of Georgia and Nikol Pashinyan, the Armenian Prime Minister, in Yerevan.

The meeting emphasised the important role of Georgia in ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus region, pointing out the topics of regional security and cooperation between the two countries in various directions, the Defence Ministry said.

The officials also highlighted the importance of the declaration on strategic partnership signed this year between the two countries, noting it would contribute to deepening cooperation in various fields.

Chikovani also met with his Armenian counterpart Suren Papikyan on Friday and signed the 2024 bilateral cooperation plan between the defence ministries of Georgia and Armenia.
