The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia on Thursday said it had conducted a “large-scale” interagency exercise focused on responding to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incidents.
The three-day exercise, led by international experts, brought together representatives from various units of the Ministry and aimed to showcase and strengthen interagency preparedness, coordination and response capabilities at tactical and operational levels in the event of CBRN incidents.
The Ministry said the United Nations Office for Project Services conducted the exercise with the financial support of the European Union as part of the project Support to Advancing Technical Capacities for Ensuring Human Security.
The body added the initiative fell under the broader programme EU4 Safety, Accountability, and Fight Against Crime in Georgia and had been implemented in collaboration with the International Relations Department of the Ministry since 2020.
